FOR THE 99 PERCENT: Chris Hayes, the former Washington editor for The Nation and current host of MSNBC’s “Up with Chris Hayes,” is in town this week to present his new book, Twilight of the Elites. He’ll be at the New America Foundation (1834 Connecticut Ave NW) tonight at 6 p.m. to speak about how the relationship between the 99 percent and the one percent is in tatters. Free.

ARTSY WINE TASTING: Mix wines and art tonight with the Washington Wine Academy, which is hosting a wine-tasting at Artomatic (1851 S. Bell St., Arlington, VA) that will feature 26 wines from Albarino to Zinfandel and everything in between. From 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $38.50 ahead of time, $45 at the door.
