Arlington’s Cigarette is a highlight in the over-saturated bedroom pop scene. Though the band has a un-Googleable name, it doesn’t matter much as the six-piece is blowing up. Cigarette is opening up for Brooklyn’s She Keeps Bees tonight on the Black Cat Backstage, so to get you pumped today’s song of the day is “Hundred Tears,” a preview from their new album Gush. The five-minute track’s hushed vocals provide a start, but then it gains pace towards the end with pounding drums and interlocking guitars. While heavily reminiscent of shoegaze and dream-pop, the track also owes a lot to the quieter moments from Real Estate’s first record.

Cigarette play tonight at The Black Cat (1811 14th St NW) with Midtown Dickens and She Keeps Bees. Starts 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.
