We’ve had a number of TV food shows pay our fair city a visit—Restaurant Impossible, Heat Seekers, No Reservations, Top Chef, among others—and now we’ve got one more landing in D.C.: Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods. Writes the Post’s Tim Carman:

Now Andrew Zimmern is focusing his cameras on the nation’s capital, not necessarily looking for “Bizarre Foods,” but for those eats that define Washington D.C. (and that could be seen as bizarre by outsiders, I guess). Zimmern will be in town this weekend to film the upcoming episode. (The Travel Channel show previously hit Washington for an Embassy Row food crawl.)

So where will he go this time?

According to Zimmern’s publicist, he and his crews plan to visit the Common Good Soup Kitchen, Mr. P’s (one of my favorite places for ribs), Florida Avenue Grill and La Chiquita in Takoma Park (my current fave for pupusas). Crews also are planning to hit up some food trucks around the District.

Those food options don’t sound particularly bizarre, but hey, we’ll take it. No air date for the show has yet been announced.
