We’re still not really sure how Amine El Khalifi went from local scenester to willing terrorist, but NBC4 reports that he’s agreed to a plea deal that could send him to jail for 25 to 30 years.
Earlier this year El Khalifi was caught with an inert explosive-laden suicide vest that he had planned to use to blow up the U.S. Capitol; the vest had been provided to him by undercover FBI officers. After he was caught, local party blog Glittarazzi discovered that the El Khalifi that seemed hell-bent on killing Americans for al-Qaeda was the same El Khalifi they had spotted at local clubs for years. (He apparently spent north of $10,000 on liposuction, they reported.)
Even if he does behave well, Khalifi will have the better part of two decades to ponder why terrorism was a better choice than simply being an avid D.C. club-goer.
