June is Pride Month, and in honor of that observance of equal rights regardless of sexuality, many large corporations have taken out ads voicing their support. The latest was Kraft Foods, which yesterday published on Facebook a photo of an Oreo cooke filled with stuffed with a rainbow of frosting.

The image has since received more than 160,000 likes and a sea of mostly thankful and laudatory comments.

But, some people are jerks. ABC News reports that sprinkled among the mostly tolerant Oreo Facebook page are people who took offense to this statement of support for gay rights and are now threatening to boycott Kraft and its Nabisco unit that manufactures Oreos:

“I’ll never buy Oreo again,” one commenter wrote.

“Disgusted with oreos,” wrote another. “Being gay is an abmonitation in GOd’s eyes i wont be buying them anymore.”

A company spokeswoman told ABC News that six-layered, rainbow-colored Oreos are not in the offing; the image was simply an advertisement in celebration of equal rights.

“As a company, Kraft Foods has a proud history of celebrating diversity and inclusiveness,” the spokeswoman, Basil Maglaris, said. “We feel the Oreo ad is a fun reflection of our values.”

Unfortunately, not everyone is as modern and forward-thinking as a giant corporation. But you know what? In this case, fine, jerks. Boycott the Oreos. They’re delicious in any color. (Except maybe the all-vanilla variety, which tastes a little funky.) More for the rest of us.
