>> “Afrobeat 4 Ya Soul” is back for its monthly installment of funky African beats at Bossa. Providing the musical guidance for the evening is DJ Underdog. $5. 9 p.m.

>> Detroit-bred, L.A.-based DJ House Shoes has been his hometown’s hip-hop ambassador for years. He recently released his debut album, Let It Go, that featured a slew of Motor City talent singing and rhyming over his productions. He’ll be headlining “’95 Live” at Liv where DJs Cuzzin B and Face will be performing opening sets. $5. 10 p.m.

>> “New Jack DC” pays homage to the R&B and hip-hop sound, New Jack Swing, that dominated the late 1980s through early 1990s. DJs Kyotey Grey and Kayo will provide the sounds at Liv while Grap Luva will play host. Free before 11 p.m. / $10 after 11 p.m. 10 p.m.
