Today’s song of the day was supposed to remind folks that the Pied Piper of R&B R. Kelly was going in town tomorrow, however Kells is very sick and had to cancel his appearance.

R. Kelly is one of the greatest R&B songwriters of our time, and this week he not only released his fantastic new record Write Me Back, but just yesterday he released Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me, his autobiography. Write Me Back follows Kelly’s 60’s soul-inspired Love Letter, but this time around he has jumped a decade and added Barry White disco strings on his lush R&B jams. “Feelin Single” is a gorgeous R&B track where R. Kelly flips the script on a woman who is stepping out on him stating he can play that game too. This isn’t the sex jams of 12 Play or the zaniness of Trapped in the Closet but a grown and sexy Kelly. I personally wish Kells a speedy recovery and when he reschedules his Barnes & Noble appearance, you better believe I’ll be the first in line.
