Brooklyn’s Friends are back in D.C. tonight at the Rock and Roll Hotel bringing their brand of NYC dance-punk that’s sure to get the place moving. The five-piece garnered instant blog attention after show-stealing sets at CMJ and the release of two shit-hot singles. The band was swept up by Fat Possum and now dominate small clubs with angelic harmonies and ESG rhythms. Today’s song of the day, “Home,” is a funky number from their recently released debut record Manifest!. The cowbell heavy track has a booty-shaking shuffle and is an instant earworm. Singer Samantha Urbani and back-up vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Lesley Hann’s vocals blend perfectly as the rest of the band keep the party going.
