>> Metro service along the Green Line is back to normal after a Friday afternoon derailment, writes WJLA. A 1,000-foot section of track was replaced after it warped due to excessive heat, causing a train to derail as the afternoon rush started. No injuries were reported.

>> Mayor Vince Gray wants the drunkest of drunk drivers to face stiffer penalties, reports the Examiner. Under a bill before the D.C. Council, a driver that is found to have more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in their system would face 10 days in jail, up from the five days currently required. Fines for other drunk driving convictions would also increase.
