Bring this man to D.C.! (NBC)
Last week, we learned that the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation was looking to film parts of its fifth-season opener in D.C. The series, which usually deals with the political ins-and-outs of the made-up town of Pawnee, Ind., is coming to Washington for a spell to follow the plot thread of Adam Scott’s character, who moved to D.C. at the end of the fourth season.
The filming will take place next Thursday and Friday, taking place mostly up and down Pennsylvania Avenue NW and the National Mall, according to the D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development. At various times, the Parks and Recreation crew will shoot near the White House, the Newseum, the Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool.
No word on which regular cast members, if any, will be making the trip to D.C., but Scott and series lead Amy Poehler seem plausible. Though, like the Post’s Jen Chaney, much as we like the ongoing romantic storyline between Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt, we’re holding out for an appearance by Nick Offerman. Seriously, bring Ron Swanson or go home.
