Christian Bale as Batman in The Dark Knight Rises (Ron Phillips/Warner Bros. Pictures)

A colleague of mine likes to ask people the ice-breaking question: If you had a super power, what would it be?

The answers and discussion run the gamut from teleportation, the power to heal, stop time to even the ability to quickly learn a vast amount of information like what Eddie Morra was able to do by swallowing a controversial, but coveted pill.

No one seemed to be gung-ho about wanting to embrace the lifestyle of a highly intelligent, martial-arts wielding billionaire with amazing high-tech toys and the burning desire to save the powerless. Well, other people, such as Lenny, might prefer the Bruce Wayne route.

But regardless of what compels people to chose which superpowers they want to possess, Batman’s psyche is still very fascinating to observe. This Sunday, NPR is featuring an analysis of Bruce Wayne with Robin Rosenberg, a psychologist who likes to study the minds of superheroes as demonstrated by her new book What’s the Matter With Batman? If you didn’t hear it this morning, the audio will be available at noon today.

With that, what would be your super power? Would you want to have Batman’s capabilities and resources?
