> D.C. Council members and their staffs met with registered lobbyists around 1,900 times in the first half of 2012, according to the most recent lobbying disclosure report. And while the disclosure informs us how often representatives of various companies and contractors met with District officials, WAMU reports that because the city releases its lobbying records only twice a year, these disclosures are more like “autopsy reports.”
>> A pilot died last night in Montgomery County when the small plane he was operating crashed in to a rural field. The single-engine plane crashed in Laytonsville, and the co-pilot was critically injured, WTOP reports.
