When we reported last week that the crew and some of the cast of NBC’s Parks and Recreation are in town this week filming scenes for the premiere of the show’s upcoming fifth season, fans got very excited.

While we had hoped that Parks and Rec‘s D.C. contingent would include Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson, the gruff, bacon-loving libertarian in charge of the Pawnee, Ind. parks department, the Office of Motion Picture and Television Development emailed DCist earlier this week saying that the only regulars filming in Washington are Amy Poehler, who stars as Leslie Knope, and Adam Scott, whose character, Ben Wyatt, took a campaign job in D.C. at the end of the show’s fourth season.

Still, Leslie Knope is a great character who helps make Parks and Rec, in the estimation of The New Yorker’s Emily Nussbaum, the best show about government on TV right now.

Parks and Rec started its D.C. shoot earlier today and will be here through Friday, with much of the filming taking place near Pennsylvania Avenue NW landmarks like the White House and the Newseum, as well as some locations along the National Mall. While we don’t encourage stalking, should you feel the urge to spy on the production, the film office has the full rundown of shooting locations:
