In the wake of yesterday’s shooting in Colorado at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, D.C. police announced that they would be monitoring screenings of the movie in the city. Additionally, the Regal Gallery Place theater posted an announcement saying that it reserved the right to search moviegoers’ bags, saying that it “puts safety first and would like to see all our patrons safely enjoy the movies.”
