TUESDAY: “Sex, Drugs & Rock n Roll” is a pop-up art exhibit, affiliated with the International AIDS Conference in town this week, that explores “the physical, psychological and socioeconomic impact of sex work and drug use on individuals, families and communities.” Be a part of the exhibit’s opening reception in the downstairs section of Iron Horse Taproom (507 7th Street NW) this Tuesday evening. There will be free brews from Underdog and Public Ale and other goodies. Proceeds from this event will be donated to HIPS (Helping Individual Prostitutes to Survive). 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tickets: $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
WEDNESDAY: This Wednesday is going to be a busy night for outdoor movie fans, with Screen on the Green showing It Happened One Night, NoMa Summer Screen presenting The Incredibles, U Street Movie Series screening Protocol, Bethesda Outdoor Movies kicking off it’s week of outdoor films with Vertigo, and the Dumbarton House’s final movie in their Jane Austen Film Fest series, Pride and Prejudice. Most films start around dusk, though exact times vary. All movies are free.
THURSDAY: Head to the The Textile Museum (2320 S Street NW) after-hours this Thursday for PM @ The TM: Creature Feature, an evening of a monster flick (The Host), drinks, music, art, and more. 6:30-10:00 p.m. $15 (includes entry and one free drink).
FRIDAY: Watch Kishi Bashi’s Tiny Desk Concert at NPR and you’ll know why you need to make it to the show at U Street Music Hall (1115A U Street NW), with Tall Tall Trees, this Friday. 7:00 p.m. $12.
