>> Maryland’s number 1! In job losses in 2012, that is. The Washington Times reports that the Old Line State has lost 10,000 jobs this year, more than any other state in the union. But Gov. Martin O’Malley says differently, claiming that the organization doing the counting isn’t accounting for jobs gained from December to January. Also, he says, Maryland isn’t losing jobs as quickly as other states.

>> D.C. isn’t the only place getting streetcars. WJLA reports that the Arlington County Board voted yesterday to approve a $249 million project to put streecars along Columbia Pike. The line—which would carry some 2,500 passengers a day—would run from the Air Force Memorial to Northern Virginia’s Community College’s Alexandria campus.
