Photo by IamJomoThere’s still time today and tomorrow, July 28, to participate in Shark Weekend at the National Aquarium, 14th and Constitution Avenue NW.
Although the great white shark or the hammerhead (the actual animals) will unlikely make a grand appearance, visitors will still get the opportunity to learn more about these ocean dwellers, including the species available at the aquarium.
Visitors can participate in activities such as scavenger hunts, face painting and discussions with shark experts about the history, lives, and habits of what they call as misunderstood creatures. They’ll also have the opportunity to make their own shark t-shirt and shark art.
This is the aquarium’s 13th year celebrating Shark Weekend.
