>> After starting out as an emcee, Aloe Blacc has transitioned nicely into a soul singer with songs like, “I Need A Dollar.” Blacc will be at the 9:30 Club along with Sub-Radio Standard. $25. 8 p.m.

Saturday:
>> The folks at DC to BC have put in a lot of work during a short period of time to produce an impressive lineup for “Trillectro.” Envisioned as a bridge between hip-hop and electronic music, the festival at the Half Street Fairgrounds will include Flosstradamus, Oddisee, Body Language and many others. Oh, and the legendary Doug E. Fresh slated to host. $30 for general admission / $100 for VIP. 12 p.m.

>> Jagged Edge and Jon B. were big players on the ’90s R&B scene. Both acts will be present at the Howard Theatre for an evening of their greatest hits. $30-$35. 8 p.m.

>> The bi-monthly session of music from the African diaspora is back. The Sol Power All-Stars are the selectors for tonight’s set at the Eighteenth Street Lounge. $TBA. 9:30 p.m.
