>> As D.C. residents await further action from federal investigators looking into Mayor Vince Gray’s 2010 campaign, the D.C. Office of Campaign Finance has said it is delaying the release of an audit of the campaign’s finances, reports the Examiner. >> Even though D.C. recently stiffened up its drunk driving laws, some federal officials are hoping that the city will follow Virginia’s lead in punishing offenders, writes the Post. >> While Virginia is holding off on implementing President Obama’s health care reform, D.C. has jumped ahead and yesterday submitted its plans for a health insurance marketplace, reports the Washington Times. The marketplaces—known as exchanges—are a key part of Obama’s reform, allowing the uninsured, self-insured and small businesses a place to look for low-cost insurance plans. As part of its plans, D.C. has requested between $70 and $80 million in federal grants to help establish the exchange.

This Day in DCist: On this day in 2011, an Examiner columnist had a weird solution to the problem of criminal flash mobs and we were happy to report that D.C. wasn’t cracking down on the sale of Girl Scout cookies. In 2010, opponents of same-sex marriage in D.C. rallied in front of the U.S. Capitol.
