D.C.’s Ms. Director is four-piece featuring members of Cartel/Cedars that make twinkly sky/naval-gazing bedroom pop. The band released its debut EP Santo Domingo in January and is playing tonight at the Black Cat. Today’s Song of the Day, “So Long,” is an uplifting track that starts with M83-referencing synths and vocals that have a twinge of Brandon Flowers—but without the bombast.
