Climbing walls and monkey bars, carrying monster truck tires and running through the mud aren’t exactly the ideal weekend activities for some folks. But that’s what hundreds of fierce competitors did at this weekend’s Mid-Atlantic Spartan Race in Leesburg, Va. At this two-day event, participants of all-ages (children went through a kid-friendly course) ran while undertaking several of these extra obstacles for nine miles.
