First you helped Pleasant Pops collect the money they needed to open a brick-and-mortar store in Adams Morgan—opening date: September 8, they hope—and now the D.C. duo that makes Mexican-inspired fruit-flavored ice pops wants your votes for the American Express OPEN “Big Break for Small Business” contest.

The contest pits 10 local businesses from across the country in a contest for $25,000 that they can put towards their trade or craft. Through August 31 you can vote once a day for your favorite business; the top five vote-getters each walk away with the prize money. While we can’t see the votes, Pleasant Pops has some of the fewest “Likes” of the 10 finalists—so it needs as many votes as possible.
