Toronto three-piece and recent Sub Pop signees METZ is bringing their shit-kicking noise rock to DC9 tonight. The band has the appeal of The Jesus Lizard and McClusky, making songs that are full of distorted guitar flourishes and shouty vocals, so get ready to get a circle pit started. Today’s song of the day, “Headache,” is the lead single from METZ’s brilliant self-titled LP (released on October 9). The thundering drums and gurney guitar form a trancelike beat that is indicative of being pounded in the head.
METZ plays tonight with The Rememberables at DC9. Tickets are $10.
