BEER: Smoke & Barrel is hosting a beer tasting event tonight, offering the first chance to taste Super IPA, a collaboration between New Belgium and Alpine Brewing. The tasting will be led by Beer Director Tim Prendergast and New Belgium Beer Ranger John Gartner. Tickets are $25 and include eight 4-ounce pours of New Belgium beers. 6:00 p.m.

MUSIC: Prepare yourself for a “hodgepodge of disparate sounds” at the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) tonight, which will be alive with Deerhoof’s “sweet vocals,” Dope Body’s “brutal eardrum crushing hardcore,” and America Hearts’ “minimalist adult contemporary” sound. 8:00 p.m. $15.
