>> Should an American University professor have breast-fed her child during class? That’s a debate that’s taking place at the university two weeks after a professor did just that, writes WJLA. Professor Adrienne Pine said her baby was too sick to go to daycare and that she didn’t want to cancel class, so she opted to take the girl to class and feed her when she got fussy. The student newspaper heard of the incident, and now students are debating whether or not it was appropriate of Pine to feed during class. Ironically enough, the title of the class was “Sex, Gender, and Culture.”
>> If you’ve driven on I-66 between the Beltway and Route 50 recently, you may have noticed new red lanes. NBC4 reports that lanes—painted a shade of red clay—are meant to help drivers know when they can and cannot use the shoulders of the roadway during rush hour. Depending on the time of day, the shoulder become available to motorists, but until now it has been market with an overhead green arrow (use) or red X (don’t use). The new red-colored lanes are meant to tell drivers exactly which lane the lights are referring to, effectively stopping those motorists that cheat to get around traffic.
