A lot of folks spent last night down at Nationals Park, taking in the rambunctious, working-man anthems of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Of course, there are plenty of other diversions on a sleepless Friday night. And, in this ever more networked and shareable world in which we live, people love to announce to others how they spend their evenings.
That’s what D.C. Councilmember Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) did last night, tweeting up a storm as he caroused from a night that began at the theater, continued into Adams Morgan where he took the stage and sang at Madam’s Organ and capped it off with a restaurant review that will have us comparing the best seafood soups this town has to offer.
Barry began his Friday night by taking a performance of The Studio Theatres ambitious dramatization of Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man. From there, it was on to the so-called “trapezoid of iniquity.” The rest, as they say, was tweeted.
With no further commentary, here is how D.C.’s mayor-for-life spent Friday night:
As for that lobster bisque, a thorough Twitter search did not reveal at which restaurant Barry enjoyed this wonderful soup. After he dropped by Stacy Brooks’ funk and blues set at Madam’s Organ, Barry told followers that he left Adams Morgan for another neighborhood.
A quick search for lobster bisque in the surrounding vicinity turned up several possible late-night dining options specializing in French cuisine. Of those, Bistro La Bonne’s reviews on Yelp include several positive entries about after-hours meals, and many that celebrate chef Daniel La Bonne’s lobster bisque.
