ZOO: Sip on wine while you make faces at the gorillas at the National Zoo’s Grapes with the Apes event tonight. THEATER: The Phillips Collection (1600 21st Street NW) presents a staged reading of The Shape of Things, Neil Labute’s play about “a twisted love story between a shy security guard at a college art museum and an assertive and alluring graduate student in art.” The reading will be followed by an discussion with the cast and director Alan Paul, who is also associate director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company. 6:00 p.m. $20. DANCE: Company E, a D.C.-based contemporary repertory dance company, uses puppets, projection, song, film, and shadow in their production of Sancho, Dulcinea, their Knight and his Quest, an interpretation of the stories in Don Quixote, on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) tonight. 6:00 p.m. Free.
