>> Minneapolis-based rapper Brother Ali has been a standout on the underground hip-hop scene for over a decade, having worked with his hometown’s Rhymesayers label. He’ll be at the 9:30 Club with Homeboy Sandman and The Reminders. $20. 7 p.m.

>> A$AP Rocky is a Harlem-born rapper who’s been gathering steam through his A$AP Mob movement and tracks like “Goldie.” He’ll be at the Fillmore with Schoolboy Q and Danny Brown. $27.50. 8 p.m.

Thursday:
>> “Winner’s Circle” features nine local hip-hop, R&B and spoken word acts. Included on the slate at Busboys and Poets on 14th Street are Desiree Jordan, Alison Crockett and the host, Javier Starks, among others. $10. 9 p.m.

>> Per usual, “Afrobeat 4 Ya Soul” is at Bossa for the last Thursday of the month. DJ Underdog and DJ Drew Cool are on the turntables. $5. 9 p.m.

>> Los Rakas consists of two Oakland-based cousins whose sound is influenced by their Panamanian roots, Baltimore Club music and West Coast hip-hop. They’ll be at Love. $10 in advance / $20 at the door. 10 p.m.

>> With a number of performing years under his belt, crooner Rahsaan Patterson stays active singing all around the world. He’s sharing the bill at the Fillmore with Kindred the Family Soul while local band, Black Alley, round out the lineup. $45. 8 p.m.

>> A few days ago, Madonna was in town. Tonight, her music will be featured along with that of two of her peers, Prince and Michael Jackson, as part of DJ Dredd‘s “1958” party. It takes place at the Rock and Roll Hotel. $13. 9 p.m.

Sunday:
>> A funk legend in his own right, Larry Graham has spent a great deal of time in the last year touring with Prince. This night, however, the bassist for Sly & The Family Stone will be at the Howard Theatre with his band, Graham Central Station. $59.50 in advance / $65 at the door. 8 p.m.
