Photo by {ryan}Metro just announced that it will be making an announcement this afternoon at 5 p.m. about late-night service during any playoff games that the Washington Nationals end up playing.
As you may recall, there’s been some back and forth between the team and everyone else over who should pay: the team says everyone else should pick up the $29,500 hourly tab for late-night Metro, while everyone else thinks that maybe the Nats should. (Other local team owners and organizations do, after all.)
Obviously, that the news is being announced at 5 p.m. isn’t a good thing—wonderful news isn’t kept until everyone is on their way home. But the Post’s Mike DeBonis tweets that D.C. won’t be picking up the tab, so maybe Metro will have something good to tell us.
We’ll have the news at 5. The announcement of the announcement is below.
