Run, Indy, run!

If you’ve ever seen Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, you’d likely remember the famous scene where Harrison Ford runs down a tunnel as a large boulder comes ominously rolling after him. (Spoiler alert: he survives.) Well, tomorrow you’ll get a chance to reenact the scene yourself.

A group of Indiana Jones fanatics will be taking over an alley along U Street between 14th and 15th Streets NW tomorrow at 1 p.m.—they’re calling it the Alley of Doom—where they will be rolling a huge inflatable ball behind people who want to see what it would be like to be the fictional explorer, if only for a few minutes:

You play the part of Indiana Jones (I’m personally holding out for a reenactment of the scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where Ford and his two sidekicks make a daring getaway on a rickety mine car. We do have some unused streetcar tracks on H Street NE, after all…
