This past summer, Penn Quarter hosted a variety of street festivals. This fall, the neighborhood will continue to party all holiday-weekend long with the Taste of DC. But good times also mean street closings. So for the brave souls out there driving around downtown District, be aware of these closures sent by DC Dept. of Transportation:
The following roadways will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 5th for the Taste Of DC Festival. They are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, October 9th at 3:00 am:
Pennsylvania Avenue, NW will be closed from 9th Street to 14th Street NW;
10th Street, NW will be closed from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW;
11th Street, NW will be closed from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW;
12th Street, NW will be closed from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW;
13th Street, NW will be closed from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW;Due to the extremely heavy pedestrian crowds associated with this event, motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when traveling in the vicinity of the event. In addition, those wishing to attend this event are encouraged to use public transportation.
