Because the Washington Nationals will be playing tonight, Metro is delaying the start of this weekend’s scheduled track work on the Green, Yellow and Red lines. Originally, maintenance was scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. tonight. But, thanks to Jayson Werth’s walk-off home run, the Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals will square off in a deciding fifth game of the National League Division Series and fans leaving the game will not find themselves delayed by Metro work crews.

Instead, the transit agency announced it will wait until the end of the game and until the mess of fans leaving Nationals Park has dissipated.

On the Green Line, trains will operate on a single track between Fort Totten and Prince George’s Plaza while crews perform tie and insulator renewal work. Yellow Line trains will only run between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square.

On the Red Line, trains will single-track between Grosvenor and Twinbrook and between NoMa-Gallaudet and Fort Totten to allow for maintenance work in those zones.

Game 5 begins at 8:37 p.m. The last train from Navy Yard-Ballpark toward Greenbelt is scheduled to leave at 2:39 a.m., and the last train toward Branch Avenue will depart at 3:17 a.m.
