BEER: Maryland’s Flying Dog brewery and the Scottish brewing iconoclasts BrewDog have declared war across the Pond to do battle with a novel concept: to create an IPA, known for a bitterness that so many of us love, without any International Bitterness Units (IBUs). Each of these Zero IBU IPAs will be on tap at RFD (810 7th Street NW) Tuesday night for you to taste test. BrewDog’s James Watt and Flying Dog’s Matt Brophy will also be on hand to chat about the beers.

MOVIES: While Labor Day has come and gone, the 2012 D.C. Labor FilmFest at AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Road Silver Spring, MD) offers the opportunity to see “an array of new films and beloved classics about work and workers.” Tonight, you can catch Billy Elliot at 4:45 p.m. Films during the rest of the fest, which concludes Thursday, include Burn: One Year on the Front Lines to Save Detroit and Newsies. $8.50-$11.50.

DEBATE: Obama and Romney spar off in the second presidential debate this evening, and watch parties are being held all around the city (like all of the Busboys and Poets locations). However, The Front Page (1333 New Hampshire Ave NW) might win your hearts and minds, their watch party will be featuring free cake pops from Baked by Yael.
