If you’re using today to finish preparing for Hurricane Sandy’s arrival, D.C. will be giving out up to five sandbags per car at the Takoma Recreation Center at Third and Van Buren Streets NW from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Rain is expected to start tonight and get stronger through Monday and into Tuesday. D.C. has joined Virginia and Maryland in declaring a states of emergency.
