>> We’re a day closer to Hurricane Sandy’s arrival to the region, and while the Capital Weather Gang says that the storm will hit just north of us, we should still expect two to three days of heavy rain and winds.

>> As Election Day approaches, the ad blitz continues in Maryland for and against a ballot measure that would expand gambling in the state. And as the Post reports, much of that effort—currently tallied at $70 million—is focused on Prince George’s County, which would stand to get a new luxury casino at the National Harbor if the measure passes. The county isn’t only being targeted because it would gain a casino, but also because a nonbinding provision of the law authorizing the referendum requires that a majority of the county’s voters approve the plan for it to move forward.

>> 10 passengers were injured last night when a Cadillac hit two Metrobuses at New Hampshire Avenue and Ingraham Street NW, reports WJLA. Two children were taken to Children’s Hospital, eights adults were taken to the Washington Hospital Center and the driver of the car sustained minor injuries. The Cadillac was said to be fleeing police.
