Tomorrow’s travel situation will look a lot like today’s, with announcements from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and Amtrak that flights and trains will continue to be halted as Hurricane Sandy blows through D.C.

All airlines serving Reagan Washington National Airport and Dulles International Airport canceled all flights until further notice. Terminals will remain open, but MWAA is advising travelers not to bother go to the airports, as many food and retail vendors will be closed. Also, it might be easier to rebook one’s ticket in the comfort of one’s own home rather than an understaffed check-in desk.

Meanwhile, Amtrak extended the shutdown of its Northeast Corridor between Washington and Boston. Once again, all trains on the Acela Express, Northeast Regional, Keystone and other lines that travel through the Mid-Atlantic are canceled, as are several westbound and southbound lines departing from Union Station.

The low-cost bus carriers BoltBus previously announced it was canceling its trips scheduled for Tuesday, while competitor Megabus has canceled runs between Boston and Washington through tomorrow afternoon.

People counting on getting around themselves with the car-sharing service Car2Go are out of luck, too. The Smartcar-rental service is shutting down in D.C. at 7 p.m. tonight. Previously, it instructed its customers to avoid parking in flood-prone areas like Bloomingdale and Southwest Waterfront.

Trains, planes and tiny automobiles all out of commission tomorrow. So if you’ve got trouble getting around, don’t give it to Edie McClurg:
