It’s Halloween, so get the heck out there and trick-or-treat! Or, at the very least, watch other people do it. (Watch those sketchy homemade goodies, though.) Here’s a small sampling of Halloween events going on around town; feel free to add more in the comments.

>> The Lamont Street Halloween Block Party: It’s a spooky Mt. Pleasant tradition, and one worth stopping by. Lamont Street NW will be closed to traffic between 17th and 18th Street, and kids in costume will walk from house to house, many of which will be fully decked out for the occasion.

>> M Street: Maybe a little more for the adults than for the kids, but M Street in Georgetown will be closed off to traffic and replaced by costumed revelers tonight.

>> Capitol Hilloween: Head down to Seventh Street SE in front of Eastern Market for Hilloween, where kids can enjoy hayrides, moon bounces, carousel rides, toys, balloons and much more. If you’re in it just for the people-watching, Tunnicliffs Tavern is a good place to camp out for the evening.

>> 11th Street: North Columbia Heights is getting in on the action for a second year in a row, hosting the 11th Street Halloween Extravaganza. There’s a kids costume parade, a dogs costume parade, trick-or-treating, and an enchanted house at BloomBars. Not too far away, there’s also a Georgia Avenue bar crawl.

>> Howl-o-ween: The Fairmont Hotel in the West End is hosting a Howl-o-ween happy hour from 6-7:30 p.m. geared towards—you guessed it—your dog. There will be treats for the pups and even awards for the best doggie costume.

>> The Going Out Gurus have a sampling of other adult-only Halloween events.
