Dubstep has come a long way from its humble beginnings in dark UK basements. The wub-wub sound has infiltrated pop music and has become so ubiquitous that even Taylor Swift is jumping on the bandwagon. Producer Rusko was one of the first to break-out into the scene, and while he hasn’t yet reached the heights of household names like Skrillex, his music is no less thrilling. Taking cues for big-dumb club bangers to reggae influenced jams, Rusko ignites stages with his no holds barred performances and expertly timed drops. Rusko is headlining the 9:30 Club tonight for a really late show, and today’s song of the is his enjoyable single, “Somebody to Love,” of his sophomore record Songs.
Rusko plays tonight with Encryption at the 9:30 Club. Tickets are $35.
