HIGH HEEL RACE: Postponed due to the hurricane, the annual High Heel Race is triumphantly dashing down 17th Street in Dupont tonight. Check out the spectacular costumes from years past to prepare. The race takes place at 9:00 p.m., but you’re sure to see revelers out as early as 6:00 p.m.

ART PARTY: Catch French Fever at The Phillips Collection’s Phillips After 5 event tonight. The evening will include French music (both pop and the classics), a film screening of French artist Xavier Veilhan’s Furtivo, and a gallery talk on food in French paintings. 5:00-8:30 p.m. $10-$12.

MUSIC: Quiet Company, a highlight from SXSW, makes their way to the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) stage tonight with Brick & Mortar. 8:00 p.m. $10.

CHOCOLATE: The Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center is hosting The Cocoa Tree: Dark Chocolate Tasting and Educational Presentation at the National Zoo Visitor Center (3001 Connecticut Avenue NW) tonight, offering attendees tastes of a variety of “top-rated, gourmet, fair trade, and organic dark chocolates” along with lessons on chocolate origins and roasting techniques. 6:00-8:00 p.m. $15.
