Even Shadow Senator Paul Strauss had a car in the parade. And a classic one, to boot.

It’s a loosely held secret around here that we hold a certain regard for the delightful quote-machine that is our nation’s 47th vice president. So one can imagine our elation when we read a White House pool report this morning saying that Joe Biden will appear on tonight’s edition of The Late Show With David Letterman.

Biden will read tonight’s Top Ten List, a segment he taped earlier today while campaigning in Davenport, Iowa. Presumably, the lines will be prepared, instead of the usual verbosity of our freewheeling vice president.

Though as much as The Late Show‘s writing staff is stocked with crackling political wit, perhaps no one could do a freeform Top Ten List better than Joe Biden. Count on at least one entry mocking Biden’s occasional habit of forgetting what state he’s in.
