This was a great weekend for revelers and people who just like to sleep in: with everyone setting back their clocks by an hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, bars could stay open and everyone could get some extra shuteye.
But for all of the warnings and reminders we get to set our clocks back—admit it: at some point you’ve forgotten to do so and shown up somewhere an hour early—not everyone gets the memo. Metro, for one.
In a series of tweets this afternoon, the transit agency apologized for closing an hour earlier than it should have. In practice, the agency didn’t set back its clocks like everyone else, so by the time the really late crowd got to the trains for the last departures around 3 a.m., Metro, thinking it was actually 4 a.m., had been closed for an hour.
We made a mistake in our closing time Saturday night & we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience. #wmata (1/2)
