Athens’ The Whigs have been making southern rock and roll with country and modern rock influences for years now, and have been known to have one hell of a live show. Their fourth and latest release Enjoy the Company looks back as much as it looks forward, with the band cleaning up their sound with help from producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady and Dinosaur Jr.). Today’s song of the day, “Staying Alive,” is an eight-minute rocker from the band; it starts with a really poppy first half before ending in an all out jam.
