>> There was an early-morning armed robbery at 18th Street and Jefferson Place, reports WJLA. Four suspects are said to have robbed one man, and during a subsequent chase shots were fired near the White House. No one was injured. Police are on the lookout for a silver or white Lincoln with D.C. tag EC0424.

>> D.C. Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson is expected to unveil a list of schools that she’d like to see closed this coming Tuesday, writes the Post. While enrollment at the city’s public schools has leveled off, there are a number of schools that are under-enrolled, serving fewer than 300 students. Many of those could be closed in what would be the second round of school closings since 2008, when 23 schools were shuttered.

>> With traffic only expected to get worse in coming decades, Montgomery County is planning ahead with a rapid bus transit system, reports WTOP. As part of the system, buses would likely run on dedicated lines on main arteries such as Rockville Pike and Georgia Avenue. The whole system is a ways off, though—planners don’t expect it to be ready until at least 2040.
