Vice President Biden and Amy Poehler

Just how ecstatic was Leslie Knope to meet her one and only star crush, Vice President Joe Biden, last night? Well, folks, she had to be pulled literally—not figuratively, literally—away from Biden when the vice president appeared on Parks and Recreation last night.

Biden’s guest spot came in the episode’s cold open, with Leslie, played by Amy Poehler, and her fiancée Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) visiting D.C. one final time. (The rest of the episode played out back in Indiana.)

“You must be Leslie Knope,” Biden says in the scene.

“You’re. My. My name just came out of your mouth,” Leslie responds.

Leslie’s euphoria over meeting the only person on her “celebrity sex list” led to her getting far closer than most people do to someone under Secret Service protection. She caressed Biden’s face for a second, grabbed his arms firmly and stumbled at a loss for words while the vice president’s real-life staff looked on in horror.

But Biden seemed pretty game through it all—the scene reportedly included a lot of ad-libbing—even going along when Leslie declaring herself Hillary Clinton’s successor as secretary of state.
