MONDAY

Wind Me Up, Chuck! Mondays joined the Howard Theatre’s calendar posthaste after the legendary Godfather of Go-Go’s passing earlier this year. If you’ve yet to check out the fun and fitting tribute, wherein The Chuck Brown Band is joined by some awesome special guest, now might be a good night to check out the spectacle as the awesome special guest is Raheem DeVaughn. $30, 8:00 p.m.

>> Black Cat: Naomi Punk, Beach Week. $10, 8:00 p.m.

>> Galaxy Hut: The Tender Thrill, Passing Phases. $5, 9:00 p.m.

TUESDAY

Songwriting juggernauts and living legends (who we really shouldn’t have to introduce or describe at length) Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler will be at the Verizon Center tonight. Among all the other positives, it could be one of the only times you see All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen at an arena rock show. $50-$129.50, 7:30 p.m.

>> Rock and Roll Hotel: Mellowhype, Trash Talk, Copstabber. $16, 8:00 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

Where are Peelander-Z from, exactly? Outer space? Japan? New York? Whatever their origin, the brightly colored punk band from Planet Peelander come with human bowling ball games, auxiliary percussion for audience members, very large signs and lots of fun times. They’ll be with Electric Eel Shock at U Street Music Hall. $15, 7:00 p.m.

>> Black Cat: The Mean Season, Silo Halo, Golden Looks. $10, 8:00 p.m.

>> Jammin’ Java: Martha Wainwright. $15, 8:00 p.m.

THURSDAY

Shockingly, there’s an event. The Moombahton DJs want to wake you from your tryptophan induced food coma for the two year anniversary of Moombahton Massive at U Street Music Hall. Joining Nadastrom are A Tribe Called Red, an all-Native American collective of DJs from Canada and Sabo, one of the staples of Moombahton Massive nights. $8, 9:00 p.m.

FRIDAY

Because if you’ve been with frustrating relatives and waiting in line for Black Friday deals, you probably feel like your head is going to explode anyway. Time to start enjoying that feeling with the lightning fast and extraordinarily heavy High on Fire. They’ll be joined by Goatwhore, Primate, Lo-Pan @ Rock and Roll Hotel. $15, 8:00 p.m.

>> Howard Theatre: Faith Evans, Michael Lynche. $39.50 in advance/$45 day of show, 8:00 p.m.

SATURDAY

For those who missed Ted Leo‘s solo set mere weeks ago at the Birchmere opening for Aimee Mann, he’s back inside city lines for a special show St. Stephen’s (in the sanctuary, actually) as part of a Positive Force show to support the Bradley Manning Support Network. So, for those who have only ever seen Ted with the Pharmacists, we’ve taken note of the differences between full band shows and solo shows. There will be support from Laughing Man, Southern Problems and Jail Solidarity. $10, 6:00 p.m.

>> Fillmore: Delta Spirit, JEFF the Brotherhood. $22.50, 9:30 p.m.

>> DAR Constitution Hall: R. Kelly (Single Ladies Tour), Tamia. $75-100, 8:00 p.m.

>> Black Cat: Supersuckers, Soulful Aggression. $15, 9:00 p.m.

>> 9:30 Club: Sufjan Stevens & Sheila Saputo

>> Howard Theatre: B.B. King, Levi Stephens. $150, 8:00 p.m.

SUNDAY

With a name like Bomb the Music Industry!, it goes without saying that this ska band has a “Damn the Man!” sort of DIY ethos that several people embrace in high school and college but don’t necessarily retain through adulthood. Yet this collective soldiers on eight years after its inception, still giving away their music for free online and still playing for $10 or less at all ages venues like the Black Cat. Hop Along opens. $10, 8:00 p.m.
