MOVIE: The Black Cat’s (1811 14th Street NW) Drink and Movie night has a “Nazi Punks F**k Off!” theme this evening, with two movies featuring Nazis in either zombie or alien forms. The double feature will include Iron Sky (Nazis on the moon) and Dead Snow (Nazis back from the dead in Norway). Pair the films with $3 Mind Erasers. 8:00 p.m. Free.

FOOD & DRINK: Firefly (1310 New Hampshire Avenue NW) is preparing a four-course Foraging Dinner this evening, serving up dishes that feature locally foraged ingrediants including black trumpet mushrooms, dandelion greens, juniper berries and persimmon. CHAMPAGNE: The Curious Grape (2900 South Quincy Street, Arlington VA) presents I Brake for Bubbly, an evening of enjoying sparkling wines from around the world. BOOKS: Author Ray Kurzweil discusses his new book, How to Create a Mind: The Secret of Human Thought Revealed at Sixth and I Historic Synangogue (600 I Street NW) this evening. His book investigates “how the brain functions, how the mind emerges from the brain, and the implications of vastly increasing the powers of our intelligence in addressing the world’s problems.” 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $40 and include a copy of the book.
