In both sound and presentation, The White Rabbits fit squarely between The Walkmen and Spoon, two bands with whom they have toured and collaborated in their five years of releasing records. While they do branch out from time to time, they almost always end up being Spoon-lite. But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as that particular influence has a history of risk-taking. Plus, the White Rabbits’ live show is always a crowd pleaser. The band is on their second leg of their Milk Famous tour, and are hitting up the Black Cat tomorrow. Milk Famous, their third record, is varied and some tracks are more enjoyable than others, like today’s Song of the Day, “Temporary.” The band hit a tight-knit groove and the track is lush with studio tricks.
White Rabbits play tomorrow December 1st with Guards at the Black Cat. Tickets are $15.
