Those in the know might be aware that old pals and former Q and Not U bandmates Chris Richards and John Davis played together at the Artisphere last December. Davis said then that their collaboration was far from a one-off. Nearly a full year later, we have the first piece of music from the pair in the form a new band Paint Branch. The duo’s self-released album, I Wanna Live, is scheduled to be released next month. The first sample of the new album, “Brighton Beach,” was uploaded earlier today. The song, named for a sandy, boozy Brooklyn neighborhood, features straining guitars and harmonized choruses.
