Illinois duo Local H was born during the grunge boom but then became associated with the alt-rock boom in the years that followed. Unlike many other groups from the time, Local H never really hung it up. Sure, original drummer Joe Daniels quit in ’99, but the two-piece kept chugging along making records and kicking the shit out of audiences worldwide. Their fist album Ham Fisted, released in 1995, met with some acclaim, but their second record, 1996’s As Good As Dead, was the band’s breakthrough. Now a dollar bin staple, the record had the band’s biggest and most recognizable hit and today’s song of the day: “Bound For The Floor.” Take a trip down memory lane with the alt-rock staple and be sure to catch the band this Sunday at the Rock and Roll Hotel.
Local H play Sunday with Lady Cop at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Tickets are $13 advanced/$15 day-of.
