MONDAY

Seeing experimental cello/guitar duo Janel & Anthony is always the sort of thing that can improve any given night. Their compositions can vary from sublime and meditative to free jazz. See them tonight at Galaxy Hut with Bella Russia. $5, 9:00 p.m.

TUESDAY

After a hiatus of a year and a half, The Killers returned this year with Battle Born, which veers more toward the rafters-reaching ‘80s tracks Springsteen and saccharine love songs of Rod Stewart than anything like the dance-punk from their breakout Hot Fuss. Maybe that’s why they’re now reaching for the rafters at the Patriot Center tonight. Tegan and Sara open. $45-$65, 7:30 p.m.

>> 9:30 Club: Grouplove, Ms Mr. First of Two nights. Both sold out, 7:00 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

Hip-hop mashup DJs The Hood Internet have collaborated with the likes of hip hop and electronic artists that we like such as Das Racist, Tobacco and Cadence Weapon. The Chicago duo will be in town tonight to make you dance at U Street Music Hall. $10 in advance/$12 at the door, 10:00 p.m.

THURSDAY

Prince Rama doesn’t put on a show so much as an experience. If you missed the experience that sisters Taraka and Nimai Larson put on at Comet Ping Pong earlier this year complete with new-agey stage setup, dance routines, ethereal harmonies and spot-on percussion, they’re returning. Apparently, this time they are demanding (not requesting) audience participation for a 15 Minute Interactive Exorcise during their set. Heavy Breathing opens. $10, 9:00 p.m.

>> 9:30 Club: GWAR, Kepone, Iron Reagan. $25, 7:00 p.m.

FRIDAY

For anyone wondering where the Vivian Girls have been recently, each one of them has a project they do on the side. Bassist Katy Goodman writes melancholy yet sweet songs as La Sera and drummer Fiona Campbell is part of the creative force behind Coasting. Singer/guitarist Cassie Ramone’s project with Kevin Morby of Woods is called The Babies and it sounds like what you’d expect from a Woods/Vivian Girls collaboration: lo-fi nods to surf rock with a hint of psychedelia. Lorelei and Shark Week will open the show at Comet Ping Pong. $10, 10:00 p.m.

>> Rock and Roll Hotel: O’Death, The World/Inferno Friendship Society. $15, 9:00 p.m.
